1. CASONA QUEZADA
Historia entre muros de adobe.
Construida en 1875 con muros de adobe y arquitectura colonial chilena, esta casona fue el hogar de Don David López Vásquez, primer alcalde de Isla de Maipo y figura clave en su fundación como comuna en 1899.
Su interior conserva mobiliario original con registros de propiedad familiar, como sillas, sillones y vitrinas talladas, y sus jardines ofrecen una mirada al paisajismo doméstico del siglo XIX. En su fachada, aún cuelgan faroles originales, y frente a la casa se encuentra un pimiento de más de 400 años que protege una grutita con la Virgen de Lourdes.
Actualmente pertenece a don Don Claudio Quezada, bisnieto del primer alcalde, quien la habita y preserva junto a su familia.

Built in 1875 with adobe walls and traditional Chilean colonial architecture, this manor was home to Mr David López Vásquez, the first mayor of Isla de Maipo and a key figure in the commune’s official founding in 1899.
Inside, original furniture is preserved, many pieces bearing the names of generations past such as chairs, armchairs and carved display cabinets. Its gardens reflect 19th-century domestic landscaping. Original wrought iron lanterns still hang from the facade, and across from the house stands a 400-year-old pepper tree, sheltering a small shrine with the Virgin of Lourdes.
The house is currently owned by Mr. Claudio Quezada, great-grandson of the town’s first mayor, who lives there with his family and helps preserve it.
